To mark Israel’s Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism, Kan Educational will air a new miniseries about four children who meet at a camp for IDF orphans. As they cope with loss, they find laughter, connection and hope in their friendship. All episodes will air consecutively on April 15.
Kan Educational will broadcast ‘The Camp of a Lifetime,’ a new four-part series created in cooperation with the IDF Widows and Orphans Organization. Through the friendship of four children at a summer camp, the series offers a sensitive, empowering and lively look at how children cope with loss.
The story centers on Ari, Yael and Nitai, close friends who meet every summer at Camp Oz, a special camp for IDF orphans and children of members of the security forces. The familiar group changes when Fadi joins them. Recently bereaved, he struggles to take part in the activities and enjoy himself.
As Fadi tries to adjust, the other friends face challenges of their own. Nitai is hiding a major secret, Yael is entering adolescence and needs advice from her late mother, and Ari discovers that a romantic relationship is developing between his mother and his favorite counselor, making him fear that his father will be forgotten.
Alongside the usual summer camp activities, including competitions, parties and moments of fun and laughter, the children’s deep shared understanding helps them face a complicated reality, come to terms with loss and grow from it.
