As part of preparations for emergencies requiring a shift from routine operations to emergency procedures, Tel Aviv District Police will hold a multi-scene drill overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday along the light rail. The exercise will simulate several types of terrorist attacks along the route and at light rail stations across the Tel Aviv District.
The drill is part of an annual program intended to improve operational readiness and cooperation among security agencies, emergency services and rescue organizations, with the aim of improving the response needed to protect the public.
District police officers and commanders will take part alongside emergency and rescue agencies, including the Tel Aviv Municipality’s SELA municipal security patrol, Fire and Rescue Services, the Home Front Command, local authorities and NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System.
Increased movement of security vehicles is expected across the Tel Aviv District, particularly near light rail stations and inside station areas.
Police asked the public to follow officers’ instructions at the scene so the drill can be conducted safely and without disruption.
Any suspected real incident, suspicious object or suspicious person should be reported immediately to Israel Police’s emergency hotline at 100.
