Following a challenging period, Beit Lessin Theatre is reopening its doors and gradually returning to cultural activity. The reopening will feature two notable productions taking the stage in mid-April.
“Glass Wall” premieres on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day
On Monday, April 13, Oren Yaakobi’s “Glass Wall” will premiere. The production opens on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day by design: it is a dramatic comedy about what the Holocaust generation left behind and the generations that followed. At its center is the relationship between a mother and daughter from the second and third generations after the Holocaust.
Haya, a young Israeli dancer, has started a new life in Berlin, including a successful career and a secret pregnancy. After two years of estrangement, her mother Viki arrives in Berlin to carry out the unusual will of Haya’s grandfather, a Holocaust survivor. Together with Haya’s brother Netzah, they set out on an impossible mission that reveals the past through humor and pain, while drawing two local residents into the story. After the performance, the audience will be invited to remain for a panel discussion.
Rehearsals began before the outbreak of the war and continued during the events, in accordance with all safety instructions.

West Side Story
Beginning Wednesday, April 15, the successful musical “West Side Story” will return to the stage. The production has already premiered and quickly won audience approval and considerable success. It now returns with renewed energy and a rich musical experience featuring dozens of actors, singers and dancers accompanied by a live orchestra on stage.
