The World Jewish Sports Museum at Kfar Maccabiah invites visitors to celebrate Israel’s 78th Independence Day with a free tour. From contemporary medals to stories of sporting courage from the past, the museum offers an experience for the whole family. Advance registration is required.
Considered the world’s leading institution in its field, the museum displays more than 1,000 rare items, from original shirts worn by leading athletes to historical objects preserved for more than 120 years. The journey begins in the late 19th century, continues through the establishment of the State of Israel and reaches the emotional podium moments familiar to generations of sports fans.
Beyond nostalgia, the museum is placing particular emphasis this year on resilience, unity and the ability to overcome challenges – values intended to renew a sense of Israeli pride.
The museum is joining an initiative by the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites and the Ministry of Heritage to open heritage sites to the public free of charge on Independence Day.
After the tour, visitors can continue to a traditional barbecue in the adjacent National Park.
Wednesday, April 22 (Independence Day). Tour times: 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Suitable for families and children aged 8 and older; the tour lasts approximately 75 minutes. Admission is free, but advance registration through the museum website is mandatory. Capacity is limited to five tickets per family.
The museum is located in the heart of Kfar Maccabiah in Ramat Gan, with ample parking and full accessibility.
