Tomer Cohen, who managed Enav Cultural Center for the past decade, has been selected as CEO of Tel Aviv Cinematheque. Cohen will replace Dina Peled, who was appointed CEO of the Tel Aviv Culture Palace, and will take up the role during June 2026.
The Tel Aviv Cinematheque board unanimously selected Cohen, an experienced cultural manager, producer and entrepreneur. The appointment marks a leadership change at one of the city’s oldest and most important cultural institutions after a decade under Peled’s direction.
A Decade at Enav Cultural Center
Cohen comes to the role after a decade as CEO of Enav Cultural Center, which hosts cultural events, conferences, music, theater and literary programs. He previously managed Beit Ariela Cultural Center and served as deputy CEO of Beit Zvi and the Library Theatre, while initiating and producing festivals and cultural projects.
The cinematheque said his experience managing cultural institutions and producing events is expected to support the venue’s continued development as an active center for cinema and culture serving filmmakers, general audiences and Israel’s film community.
Leadership Change at the Cinematheque
Dina Peled is completing a decade-long term at Tel Aviv Cinematheque after being appointed CEO of the Tel Aviv Culture Palace. According to the cinematheque, the institution underwent processes of growth and renewal and expanded its cultural activity during her tenure.
Tomer Cohen said: “I am happy and excited to join the excellent team at Tel Aviv Cinematheque, and grateful for the opportunity to continue its distinguished tradition.”
Peled congratulated Cohen on his appointment and said she was confident that his varied experience would bring the right spirit to the cinematheque and allow it to remain one of Israel’s leading cultural institutions.
Roni Haimovsky, chairman of Tel Aviv Cinematheque, added that Cohen brings extensive experience to the role and will be able to lead the cinematheque in the years ahead.
