The Imperial Ice Stars’ production “Cinderella – Ballet on Ice” will be presented at the Tel Aviv Opera House beginning September 3, 2026. This will be the company’s third appearance at the Tel Aviv Opera House, this time with Tony Mercer’s ice adaptation of the Cinderella story.
The company enjoyed major success on its previous visit with “Swan Lake – Ballet on Ice.” For the performance, the entire opera stage is covered with a layer of real ice. Dozens of dancers and skaters perform amid innovative scenery and lighting, dozens of costumes, effects, acrobatics and music in an experience designed for all ages.
The company includes 24 world-champion skaters who have collectively won more than 250 medals and titles in international ice-skating competitions. They perform in leading theaters and opera houses around the world. The company has appeared in 27 countries across five continents and makes a point of performing in theaters rather than sports arenas.
About Creator Tony Mercer
Tony Mercer, the company’s artistic director and choreographer, is considered one of the world’s leading ice-dance choreographers. A drama graduate from Manchester, he began his career as a lighting designer and directed his first work, “Summer on Ice,” in 1994. He has since created ice adaptations of classics including “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Barnum,” “Carmen,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Peter Pan” and “The Nutcracker.” In 2004, he founded the UK-based Imperial Ice Stars.
The performance will take place at the Tel Aviv Opera House beginning September 3, 2026.
