The upcoming events in the “What Does It Matter? Democracy 2026” series will take place at the city’s young adult centers and HaMigdal Innovation Center beginning Sunday, August 9, 2026. The series is aimed mainly at young adults and connects civic issues with game shows, conversations, writing workshops and short courses.
On Sunday, August 9, from 19:00-21:00, a team election game show hosted by Gil Rabbi will take place at the Mazeh 9 Young Adults Center. Another event in the same format will be held on Wednesday, August 12, from 20:00-21:30, at the Vardiel 17 Young Adults Center. The game show is intended for people in their 20s and 30s, places are limited and advance registration is required. A ticket for the game show at Mazeh 9 costs NIS 25, or NIS 15 for DigiTel holders.
On Monday, August 10, two events will take place in parallel. At Migdal Shalom, the “Real Life – State Budget DIY” session will be held from 18:30-20:00, featuring a talk by Amit Ben-Tzur, CEO of the Arlozorov Forum, and an interactive simulation of allocating the state budget. Participation costs NIS 25.
The same evening, from 19:30-21:00, the HaKeshet 49 Young Adults Center will host a conversation with economic journalist Tzlil Avraham. The discussion will cover the cost of living, rent, food prices, the labor market, reserve duty and public transportation.
Later in the month, Mazeh 9 will host two “Words on the Couch” writing sessions with Gili Neuman: “Why Me VS Politics Now” on Sunday, August 16, from 19:00-20:30, and “Heart VS Strategy” on Sunday, August 23, at the same times.
On Tuesday, August 18, from 19:00-21:30, the outdoor plaza of the Mazeh 9 Young Adults Center will host the storytelling evening “What Does Politics Have to Do With It?”, in collaboration with Hasimta Theater and hosted by Gili Neuman.
The series also includes a “Fake News” course with FakeReporter at the HaMigdal Young Adults and Innovation Center. The course is intended for ages 22-35 and will take place over two sessions, on September 3 and 10, 2026, from 18:30-21:30. Participation in both sessions costs NIS 50.
