“Jaffa Pictures 2” will be shown in a preview screening at Anis Cultural Center in Jaffa on Saturday evening, August 22, 2026, at 21:00. The screening will be followed by a conversation with director Erik Lubetzki.
Jama’at Jaffa Returns
The sequel brings Jama’at Jaffa and its colorful cast of surrounding characters back to the screen. The comic stories are written in the spirit of the popular slang associated with Menachem Talmi’s work.
The new stories include Solomon HaGadol getting entangled in Shababo’s business and Yaakov HaIver’s honor, Haim Aftersheiv’s illness, a man jumping out of a coffin, Hazuka hiding in a restroom and the group’s attempts to make a living. Returning characters include Shababo, Shimshon HaTzohak, Prosper and Yaakov HaYeled.
The first film was among the three most-watched Israeli films of 2025 and led the VOD chart for weeks. Its success led to the production of the sequel.
The Cast
The cast includes Uri Gavriel, Orel Tsabari, Moti Ben Yishai, Israel Atias, Yigal Adika, Shlomi Koriat, Julia Maslawi, Gabi Dan, Oded Menaster, Chino Elmizrak and Merav Bracha.
They are joined by online personalities Bari Yehezkel and Agam Nava, known as Gveret Shawarma. Guest roles include Sean Softi, Meir Tamam, Keren Ozen, Haim Zenati, Amir Zerd, Uri Saada, Shahar Iluk and Eyal Cohen.
Creators and Producers
Erik Lubetzki and Mati Harari wrote and directed the 87-minute Israeli comedy. The producers are Moshe Edri, Leon Edri, Shaul Scherzer, Erik Lubetzki and Mati Harari.
