Ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 attack, the exhibition “Voices from the Gaza Border أصوات من غلاف غزة” will open in Jaffa, bringing together works by around 75 artists from the western Negev. Alongside active artists, it will also present works by five artists who were murdered in the attack. The exhibition will open on September 14 at Amiad Center and run through October 3.
The participating artists come from the Sha’ar HaNegev, Eshkol and Sdot Negev regional councils, from Sderot, and from more than 20 kibbutzim and moshavim in the western Negev, including Be’eri, Kfar Aza, Nir Oz, Nirim, Erez, Nir Am, Mefalsim, Zikim and Netiv HaAsara.
The exhibition will feature painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics and installation art, alongside performance art, dance and music, film screenings and meetings with artists.
A central place in the exhibition will be given to works by Aviv Atzili, Eliko Reichenstein, Haim Peri, Roi Idan and Yuval Rabia, who were murdered on October 7. The exhibition will also honor the late artists Dov Heller and Reuven Nahon, both of whom were part of the western Negev art scene.
The exhibition is curated by Iris Elhanani. It began as an initiative of the Gershoni Foundation to support artists in Sha’ar HaNegev, in cooperation with the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council and community center, and with the support of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Jaffa municipal administration.
Tours, Workshops and Meetings Throughout the Exhibition
The opening event will take place on Monday, September 14, at 19:00, and will include a performance by musicians and singers from the Sha’ar HaNegev Conservatory and a dance performance by Shay Harmati.
On September 17 at 16:00, a guided tour will take place, followed at 17:00 by the family workshop “Flowers from the Negev,” in which participants will use flowers collected in the western Negev to create prints on a fabric bag. The workshop costs NIS 40 and requires advance registration.
Additional events will take place throughout the exhibition period, including a participatory performance installation by Yonatan Hai Sigal, a gallery talk and a meeting with participating artists.
On September 24, the event “When Memory Becomes Words” will feature captivity survivor Aviva Siegel and journalist and author Amir Tibon in a discussion about writing, testimony and hope.
On September 28, the evening “Cinema and Rupture” will explore coping with trauma and loss through film, with screenings and a conversation with the filmmakers. On September 30, there will be a guided tour, a dance performance and a conversation between participating artists and the audience.
Free Admission to the Exhibition
“Voices from the Gaza Border” will be presented at Amiad Center, 12 Amiad Street, Jaffa, from September 14 through October 3, 2026. Admission is free, and most of the works on display will be available for purchase.

Sunday through Tuesday, Friday and Saturday – 10:30-16:00. Wednesday and Thursday – 16:00-21:00. During the intermediate days of Sukkot – 10:30-20:00.
