Lev Tel Aviv police arrested two East Jerusalem residents after allegedly catching them in the act of towing a scooter that had been stolen shortly beforehand from central Tel Aviv.
During a proactive operation targeting property crime, officers noticed two suspects towing one scooter with another. When police approached them at a central intersection in the city, the two allegedly tried to flee and confronted the officers before being arrested after a short chase.
A check of the scooters found that the one being towed had been stolen minutes earlier from HaNevi’im Street in central Tel Aviv.
The two suspects were taken for questioning at Lev Tel Aviv police station and were later brought before a court, which extended their detention through August 19, 2026.
After forensic identification checks were completed, the scooter’s owner, a Tel Aviv resident, was contacted and the vehicle was returned to him.
