The new Ronit Elkabetz secondary school for the arts will open on September 1, 2026, in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood. The five-story building covers 8,600 square meters and was built at a cost of NIS 185 million.
The school will have 42 homerooms and six special education classrooms. It also includes technology and art rooms, laboratories, a library, an auditorium, staff rooms, sports courts and a sports hall.
The school is named after Ronit Elkabetz, the actress, director and screenwriter who worked in Israeli cinema.
The project joins the elementary school at Kikar HaMedina, which was built with 18 homerooms and six special education classrooms. Four new sports halls are also expected to open at the Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Shamir, Ajyal and Rogozin schools.
Major renovations and conversions are also planned during the coming school year at the Graetz, Tel Nordau and Shapira schools. At the same time, 14 shade projects, 67 projects in schoolyards, entrances and sports courts, and six sports halls are being advanced across the city.
