A prosecutor’s statement, a notice of intent to indict, was filed on October 28 against an 18-year-old suspected of setting fire to his neighbor’s car on Mahal Street in Tel Aviv. The car caught fire on September 30, and the suspect was arrested on October 18.

Police suspect the arson was linked to a dispute between neighbors about a year earlier. During that dispute, the suspect allegedly threatened to burn the neighbor’s motorcycle.

Investigators in the South Tel Aviv police station’s youth unit collected evidence and witness statements. The suspect was questioned and held in custody after his arrest, and his remand was extended several times.

Other people were questioned, some on suspicion of helping carry out the alleged arson. The Tel Aviv District Prosecutor’s Office filed the prosecutor’s statement at the end of the investigation.
