As part of Tel Aviv District Police efforts against unlawful stays in Israel, Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan Police Station conducted a large, focused nighttime enforcement operation. The operation, carried out with Border Police reservists and volunteers from municipal emergency response teams, targeted people without legal stay permits and those suspected of employing, transporting or accommodating them.
Police raided two main locations in the city:
- Dov Hoz Street: 18 people without legal stay permits were found and arrested inside a residential building.
- HaYarkon Street: 13 additional people without legal stay permits were found during a raid on a nearby construction site.
All those arrested were taken to the police station for questioning.
Police also took action against people suspected of facilitating their stay. An 89-year-old Bnei Brak resident was detained for questioning on suspicion of accommodating people without permits. Police said efforts were continuing to locate the manager of the construction site on HaYarkon Street in order to consider criminal and administrative measures, including a possible closure order.
Israel Police said: “Increased enforcement at businesses and construction sites will continue for as long as necessary. We are taking firm action against people staying in Israel without permits and those who assist them, with the clear aim of protecting public safety.”
