The appeals committee accepted the main arguments made by residents of Arvei Nahal Street in Tel Aviv and ordered an urban renewal project to move forward after it had been halted by a dispute with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality over parking.
The dispute continued for several years, during which residents argued that the municipality refused to allow a parking solution in the project even though active parking spaces already exist at the site. According to the committee’s decision, the parking issue alone does not justify stopping the project.
In practical terms, the project is expected to return to the planning process, subject to the remaining required procedures.
