Beit Lessin Theater in Tel Aviv will open its production of Dead Poets Society on November 28, 2026. Yehezkel Lazarov and Tal Grushka are among the cast of Tom Schulman’s stage adaptation of the film starring Robin Williams. Eldar Gohar Groisman directs.

Set at an elite American boarding school, the story follows a young literature teacher whose imaginative approach to learning clashes with an education system focused on achievement. His students are drawn to his lessons, while parents and fellow teachers push back. Caught between family expectations, school tradition and the possibilities he opens up, the students face a crisis when a tragic incident leads to an investigation. The teacher is left to bear the consequences.

The cast also includes Dali Shachnaey, Amir Kriaf, Rotem Keinan, Yaniv Shavit, Tomer Ben Rubi, Arnon Herring, Omri Lax and Shahar Golo Ben Tov.

Eli Bijaoui translated the play, with poetry translation by Gal Zak. The creative team includes Neta Haker (sets), Oren Dar (costumes), Lior Ronen (music), Keren Granek (lighting) and Omri Rozi (video art). Noam Bitzur is the assistant director.
