On May 3, 2026, Tel Aviv District Commander Maj. Gen. Haim Sargarof issued an administrative closure order for an apartment on Mevaser Street in south Tel Aviv after police said it had been used as an illegal gambling venue.
During an inspection two days later, officers from Tel Aviv South Police Station saw a person leaving the apartment and noticed movement inside. Police entered and found a 61-year-old Tel Aviv resident. Officers said an active gambling operation was running inside, with computers and systems used for illegal gambling games, in violation of the closure order.
The woman was detained for questioning at Tel Aviv South Police Station. Police said they were working to locate additional suspects believed to have been involved in operating the venue. Items seized at the apartment were transferred for further investigation.
Israel Police said it views violations of judicial and administrative orders seriously and will continue enforcement against illegal gambling operations and those allegedly involved.
