Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv police station arrested a man who was found carrying a knife near a public figure in Tel Aviv’s Park HaMesila. Contrary to earlier reports, there was no attempted stabbing.
Police said in a statement on Tuesday, October 27, that while the public figure was being escorted in the park, forces at the scene noticed a suspicious object bulging under the coat of a man who was nearby. They stopped and searched him and found a knife.
The suspect, a Jerusalem resident in his 20s, was arrested and taken for questioning at the Lev Tel Aviv station. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
