The Kaspi family is back, and the hotel is preparing for the football World Cup. The new season, premiering June 7, will bring a sporting theme and a range of guest stars, including Tal Berman, Haim Revivo, Pini Balili and Liran Strauber.
The hotel most viewers would probably not choose for their next summer vacation is opening its doors again. The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation’s popular comedy ‘Malon Hotel’ is returning for a third season on Kan Educational. This time, the entire plot revolves around World Cup fever, combining humor, romance and plenty of familiar faces from Israeli sports.
Football, business and a pet pigeon
In the new season, the football World Cup looks like a perfect opportunity for hotel manager Guri (Guy Loel) to rescue the struggling business and make some money along the way. Guri decides to turn the hotel into Nahariya’s main viewing venue. The local kiosk is transformed into a colorful screening area managed by Naya, who tries to compete with the city’s other hotels. To win the battle for viewers, Guri brings in well-known players, commentators and sports personalities.
At the same time, hotel owner Gazala catches football fever and decides to invest in his youth team, ‘Nahariya Sausages.’ The story becomes more complicated when Eitan joins the team and emerges as a promising striker, while Sven, the only professional athlete in the area, is appointed coach. Together they will deal with fair play, losing and fear.
Romance is in the air
Away from the pitch, relationships are also developing. Ouri and Question take their first steps as a couple, and Ouri learns that a real relationship involves compromise, sharing emotions and arguments. Naya reveals a surprising secret about one of the regular visitors to the screening area. For an extra touch of absurdity, Alexis and Sven, who are now married, share a hotel room and raise a pigeon together.
Beyond the entertainment, the new season also has an educational focus. Through the World Cup storyline, young viewers will learn English terms, football rules and important sporting values.
