Police opened an investigation into a shooting on Jerusalem Boulevard in Jaffa. The injured man was taken for medical treatment, and police said the incident was criminally motivated.
Police received the shooting report at around 4:36 p.m. Large numbers of Tel Aviv District officers were sent to the scene, where they found a man in critical condition. He was taken to a medical center for treatment.
Forensic investigators began collecting evidence at the scene. Officers also took witness statements and conducted searches for suspects.
Tel Aviv District Commander Maj. Gen. Haim Sargarof held a situation assessment at the scene with Ayalon Subdistrict Commander Brig. Gen. Daniel Hadad and other commanders. The investigation was assigned to the Ayalon Subdistrict Crime-Fighting Unit. Police said the shooting was criminally motivated.
