Ayalon Subdistrict Police, working with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, conducted a focused weeklong enforcement operation against riders of electric bicycles and scooters, with an emphasis on dangerous violations.
Police reported the following results:
- 369 traffic tickets were issued to riders for serious violations.
- 53 electric bicycles and scooters were seized and removed.
Enforcement focused on conduct considered dangerous to road users, including riding under the influence of alcohol, running red lights, riding illegally on sidewalks, failing to yield to pedestrians and using a mobile phone while riding.
“The goal is not only to issue tickets, but to create real deterrence,” police said. “We are working to restore pedestrians’ and road users’ sense of safety and prevent the next crash.”
Police said the joint enforcement effort with the municipality will continue as part of broader measures to reduce road crashes and address unsafe micromobility riding in the city.
