Two films in Kan 11’s new documentary lineup tell distinctly Tel Aviv stories: one follows four women who chose not to have children, while the other was filmed over four and a half years at a residential home for 23 autistic adults in central Tel Aviv. The season begins October 17 and will air after the Saturday evening news and on Kan BOX.
What Does She Think?
Four Tel Aviv friends in their late forties, all childfree by choice, meet at a bar for a conversation that moves between personal experience and the wider social and political attitudes surrounding that decision.
They then meet women aged 70 to 90 who chose not to have children at a time when that path was far less accepted. The film is competing at the Darom Film Festival. It was directed by Iris Zaki and produced by Maagalot.
The film will air Saturday, November 14, after the news on Kan 11.
Jabotinsky Hostel
Over four and a half years, Adi Yaffe-Cohen followed 23 autistic adults living in a residential home in central Tel Aviv. She first joined the home as a staff member, built relationships of trust with the residents and only later began filming.
The film explores belonging, independence, loneliness and friendship, while also tracing the changes Yaffe-Cohen experienced during her years at the home. It received a jury commendation in the Beyond the Screen competition at Docaviv 2026.
It will air Thursday, December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The producers are Yonatan Nir and Almog Gurevitz, and the editor is Arik Lahav-Leibovich.
