British artist David Breuer-Weil’s first solo exhibition in Israel opens November 4, 2026, at Sheetrit & Wolf Gallery in Neve Tzedek. Curated by Gregory Baker, the exhibition, titled Achdut (Unity), runs through December 4 and explores human relationships, identity, belonging and the search for unity during crisis.

Breuer-Weil will travel to Israel for the opening, which British Ambassador Simon Walters is expected to attend. The artist has also been selected to create a memorial in Britain to the October 7 attacks.

Home, Memory and Belonging

The exhibition introduces Bayit (Home), a new series of paintings and sculptures made following the return of the hostages. “I have never encountered a subject that felt more important to sculpt, paint and draw,” Breuer-Weil says.

The monumental painting Boker (Morning) brings together hundreds of images and symbols relating to the October 7 attacks and their remembrance. Ana Elech (Where Shall I Go) considers the future of Britain’s Jews against a background of antisemitism and growing insecurity.

Large-Scale Painting and Public Sculpture

Born in London in 1965, Breuer-Weil continues to live and work there. He studied at Central Saint Martins and the University of Cambridge. Alongside his large paintings, his monumental sculptures have been installed in public spaces in Britain and elsewhere. Sotheby’s and Christie’s have held exhibitions of his work, which is represented in public and private collections.

A First Solo Exhibition in Israel

Ruth Sheetrit, a co-owner of the gallery, said:

“We are proud and excited to host David Breuer-Weil’s solo exhibition. The decision by an international artist of his standing to exhibit at our gallery, particularly at a time when Israel faces a cultural boycott internationally, is a significant achievement and an expression of trust. It reminds us of art’s power to cross borders, bring people together and sustain dialogue even in times of disagreement and polarization.”
